    Track Update March 20, 2013

    March 20 2013

Florida is a great place to spend a couple of winter months but it can wear on you once the racing season is over. On the other hand who can knock the weather.

This summer will be the tipping point in progress toward the basic build of the track site. Hundreds of truckloads have been delivered and once we have this material moved into position, we will have a better idea when we can haul in clay for the track surface.

I have been looking at bleachers online and have been in discussion with several dealers. I have searched for pre used units with aluminum seats and floor boards but they are not easy to find. It dosn't make sense to ship wooden seats from Texas, New Mexico or even Ohio.

If we can build forms for the Concrete barriers for the Track perimeter, we can pour them ourselves. A northern minnesota company will rent the forms to us but the timeframe for availability is too short and the rental rate is to high.

Several offers to help at the track from race enthusiasts have been recieved and we appreciate the offers but we have to address the insurance/liability issues first. To that end, our lawyer is preparing a new non profit corporation to cover volunteer activities. If you are interested in volunteering or serving as one of the directors of the new corporation, please contact me at 345 8551. More information as we have it.
